Business Developer

Oslo, Norway (with travel across Norway)

Your new role

As Business Developer, you will play a key role in expanding our presence in Norway’s industrial market. You will identify new opportunities, build strong client relationships, and position our consultancy services as the preferred choice for complex technical projects. Working closely with our engineering and project teams, you will ensure that our solutions meet the unique needs of Norwegian industries.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Market Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within Energy & Power, Gas Infrastructure & CO₂ Storage, Process Industry, and Green Transition projects.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory developments to anticipate client needs and position Ramboll competitively.

Client Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industrial clients and stakeholders. This entails working on projects together with clients.
  • Represent Ramboll at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance visibility and thought leadership.

Strategic Contribution

  • Support annual business planning and contribute to achieving revenue and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align business development activities with Ramboll’s global strategy.

Proposal and Project Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering and project management teams to develop technically robust and commercially viable proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with Ramboll governance standards and ethical business practices.

Sustainability and Innovation

  • Act as an ambassador for Ramboll’s sustainability agenda and promote innovative solutions for industrial clients.
  • Foster a collaborative “One Rambøll” mindset across teams and disciplines.

Industries You Will Focus On:

  • Energy & Power (including renewable energy, electrification, and grid solutions)
  • Gas infrastructure and CO2 storage (terminals, pipelines and facilities)
  • Process Industry (chemicals, refineries, minerals and cement)
  • Infrastructure & Construction (industrial facilities and technical installations)
  • Green Transition & Sustainability Projects (hydrogen, e-fuels, waste heat recovery)

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Economics (preferably with specialization relevant to energy or industrial sectors) to ensure technical credibility and strategic insight.
  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales within the Norwegian Industrial Market. Consultancy and/or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Norwegian industrial processes, energy transition and regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in Norwegian and English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with ability to develop business cases and manage risk.
