The Sales Engineering Automation & Forward Deployed Engineer is a hybrid role that increases Sales Engineering leverage across three areas: AI automation, customer-facing forward deployed engineering, and SE reporting/data visibility.

This role builds targeted automations that remove repetitive work from SEs and AEs, partners directly with strategic customers that need help designing automation or integration patterns around Restaurant365, and works with RevOps to make SE contribution visible in standard reporting.

The expected outcome is higher SE capacity, stronger win rates on complex opportunities, faster time to value on automation-heavy accounts, and better visibility into technical win impact.

How you’ll add value:

  • AI automation and workflow engineering (40–45%) Design, build, and maintain lightweight automations that support SE workflows, including call recap and follow-up generation, configuration and POV helpers, RFP and security-response accelerators, and reusable workflow patterns.

  • Expected output: 3–5 production workflows per quarter, active weekly usage by a majority of SEs, and measurable time savings of 1–2 hours per SE per week.

  • Forward deployed engineering for strategic accounts (30–35%) Partner with customer technical and operational teams on complex automation and integration use cases where Restaurant365 is a core system dependency. This includes defining reference patterns, validating data flows, documenting ownership boundaries, and helping customers or partners implement solutions they can support long term.

  • Expected output: 3–6 active FDE engagements per quarter, documented architecture and runbooks for each engagement, and at least one strategic deal unlock or deal save annually.

  • SE reporting and data model support (15–20%) Partner with RevOps and SE leadership to define and maintain the core data model linking opportunity, SE engagement, technical win, and deal outcome. Build and maintain standard dashboards for SE performance, coverage, and win/loss insights.

  • Expected output: 1–2 standard dashboards in active use and at least one actionable insight per quarter that improves resource allocation, deal strategy, or process design.

  • Enablement and cross-functional feedback loop (5–10%) Create lightweight playbooks, demos, and enablement materials for SE and AE teams; document repeatable integration and automation patterns; and provide structured feedback to Product, Engineering, and RevOps on recurring field needs and productization opportunities.

  • Operate with clear prioritization, stakeholder communication, and measurable business outcomes across influenced ARR, adoption, time saved, and risk reduction.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Technical Consulting, Solutions Architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role.

  • Experience designing or supporting API integrations, data workflows, or business process automations in a SaaS environment.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical workflows, data requirements, and implementation plans.

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools, scripting, APIs, and structured data analysis.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across customers, Sales, SE, RevOps, Product, and Engineering.

  • Experience creating dashboards, reporting definitions, or operational metrics that support go-to-market decision making.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously with clear ownership and follow-through.

  • AI fluency, including the ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, automate workflows, synthesize information, and support high-quality outputs while applying sound judgment and data security standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with restaurant, hospitality, payroll, POS, ERP, or workforce-management workflows.

  • Familiarity with common customer automation and integration scenarios such as employee syncs, accounting/ERP exports, scheduled data movement, and exception monitoring.

  • Experience with Salesforce reporting, BI tools, or RevOps partnership models.

  • Experience in enterprise or strategic account environments where technical solutioning materially influences deal outcomes.

  • Restaurant365 product or ecosystem familiarity is strongly preferred.

  • This position has a salary range of $100,000 - 150,000 (+Commission). The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
