EMPLOYER: Rocket Travel, Inc.
TITLE: Senior Software Engineer
DUTIES:
• Lead the end-to-end development of customer-facing travel web applications, with a primary focus on frontend architecture and user experience optimization.
• Design, develop, and deploy new features specifically for high-traffic travel booking platforms integrated with third-party APIs.
• Act as a customer- and product-focused engineer.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and UX designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions tailored for Rocket Travel’s partner platforms.
• Conduct advanced A/B testing and data-driven feature enhancements to improve conversion rates and customer engagement, leveraging in-depth knowledge of travel industry user behavior.
• Utilize React and GraphQL to contribute to backend development.
• Research and advocate for emerging frontend technologies that align with Rocket Travel’s product vision.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field of study and
• 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving developing scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: At least one modern programming language, such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, Python, or JavaScript;
• Software development principles including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures, as well as schema design and query optimization for dynamic travel data;
• Experience specified must include 3 years of experience with each of the following:
• Building and maintaining distributed systems and microservices architecture;
• Relational and non-relational databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB;
• Storing and retrieving travel booking and user profile data.
• Experience specified must include 2 years of experience with each of the following:
• CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (such as Git), and agile development practices;
• Implementing A/B testing frameworks and analyzing user interaction data to drive product decisions in the travel technology domain.
• Telecommuting permitted up to 5 days per week.
OTHER:
- Job Site: New York, NY;
- 40 hours/week;
- Salary: $135,000 – $182,000/ per year
