Scale Tech is a software development agency providing outsourcing, staff augmentation, and end-to-end software delivery for clients across Lithuania and Europe. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the team of our long-time partner - a well-established company in the fintech sector.
Engagement details:
- Full-time, long-term engagement.
- Primarily offered as a B2B freelance contract - this is our preferred cooperation model. That said, if you are only considering permanent employment, we still encourage you to apply, as this option can be discussed individually.
- Fully remote work.
- Laptop and work equipment provided by our partner.
Your Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining the data warehouse and overall data architecture, keeping scalability and performance in mind.
- Create and improve data pipelines and ETL processes that serve both analytical and operational needs.
- Implement integrations connecting various internal platforms and third-party systems.
- Establish and maintain data quality standards and governance practices, including validation and monitoring routines.
- Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to make sure trustworthy data is available for decision-making.
- Build and evolve the data infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform ( GCP), BigQuery, dbt, and Apache Superset.
What We Expect:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a Data Engineer role.
- Solid working knowledge of GCP and BigQuery.
- Practical experience using dbt for data modeling and transformations.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Proven track record of building and tuning ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with Apache Superse t or similar BI/visualization tools.
- Comfortable with everyday development tooling such as Git, Docker, and Jira.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to think analytically and turn concepts into working solutions.
- Previous experience in banking or fintech would be considered an advantage.
