The Sales Administrator provides essential administrative and operational support to the Sales organization. This role focuses on lead assignment, underwriting assistance, documentation management, and cross-functional coordination to help merchants successfully complete the sales and onboarding process. The Sales Administrator plays a key role in maintaining data accuracy, supporting sales productivity, and ensuring compliance with Shift4 policies and procedures.
This role must be onsite 4 days a week one day remote Westlake Village, CA.
Position Overview: The Sales Administrator supports Shift4’s Sales team by managing leads, coordinating underwriting requirements, and guiding merchants through the onboarding process. This role is responsible for ensuring applications, documentation, and internal workflows are completed accurately and efficiently so merchants can move from initial interest through approval and activation with minimal friction.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with Sales, Underwriting, Risk, and other internal teams while delivering a positive merchant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Sales team throughout the entire merchant lifecycle.
- Manage, track, and process incoming sales leads in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist merchants and Sales representatives with underwriting requirements, including collecting, reviewing, and submitting required documentation.
- Coordinate with Underwriting, Risk, Compliance, and other internal teams to resolve issues and move applications forward.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM and internal systems, ensuring documentation is complete and properly stored.
- Communicate application status, next steps, and requirements clearly to Sales representatives and merchants.
- Ensure all work aligns with Shift4 policies, underwriting guidelines, and compliance standards.
- Identify inefficiencies in processes and recommend improvements to support sales effectiveness and merchant experience.
- Perform additional clerical and administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication with internal teams and external merchants.
- Experience working with CRM systems, documentation workflows, or sales support tools preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to follow established procedures and escalate issues when necessary.
- Previous experience in sales support, underwriting support, financial services, or merchant onboarding is a plus.
