The Role: Crafting an Impactful User Experience

We are looking for a high-impact Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the evolution of our mobile ecosystem. You aren’t just an “Android developer”; you are a mobile architect who understands that the best user experiences often require a seamless blend of native performance, cross-platform efficiency, and robust cloud scaling.

This role is for you if you’re a problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity, takes full ownership of your projects, and is eager to learn and adapt. You’ll need to be adaptable and flexible, comfortable with shifting priorities and rapid iteration as we continue our fast-paced growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Architect & Build: Lead the development of high-performance applications across both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Bridge the Gap: Evaluate and implement cross-platform solutions (like KMP or React Native) to maximize code reuse without sacrificing quality.
  • Cloud Integration: Design and maintain the mobile-to-cloud bridge, leveraging AWS to ensure data persistence, authentication, and real-time syncing.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, drive code reviews, and set the standard for mobile CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Modernise: Keep us at the cutting edge - whether that’s migrating to Compose/SwiftUI or exploring the latest in Kotlin Multiplatform / React Native.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Platform Versatility: 5+ years of professional mobile experience. You should be deeply proficient in Kotlin/Java, and/or in Swift/Objective-C.
  • The Cross-Platform Edge: Proven experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or React Native. You know when to go native and when to go cross-platform.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AWS (AppSync, Amplify, Lambda, or S3) or equivalent platforms like GCP/Azure. You understand how to architect “offline-first” mobile apps.
  • Deep Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of modern architectural patterns (MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture) and Dependency Injection frameworks. Expert in reactive programming (such as Combine, Coroutines/Flow, or RxSwift) and building automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitrise, GitHub Actions, or Fastlane.
  • Product Mindset: You don’t just build tickets; you care about the UX and the “why” behind the features.
