Job Description
At TAL, our Governance & Reporting Manager plays a pivotal role in protecting trust at scale. Sitting within Group Life & Retirement (GL&R), this role strengthens the foundations that enable our partnerships to thrive ensuring robust governance, transparency and regulatory integrity across a portfolio supporting millions of Australians. By championing consistency, assurance and collaboration across TAL and our partners, this role helps safeguard sustainable growth and innovation. It’s meaningful work that underpins confidence in our promises and ensures we continue protecting what matters most, today and into the future.
In this role you will:
- Embed strong governance frameworks that enable compliant, sustainable growth across the GL&R portfolio.
- Strengthen partner trust and assurance by delivering end‑to‑end attestations, audits and CPS230/CPS234 obligations.
- Enable confident decision‑making through transparent governance, reporting and partner accountability mechanisms.
- Safeguard regulatory and contractual commitments across partners and service providers through consistent oversight.
- Provide clear risk insight to leaders and committees via timely, meaningful portfolio‑level reporting.
- Champion governance excellence across GL&R, influencing stakeholders and representing partner interests.
- Build capability and consistency by leading a high‑performing governance team and uplifting governance maturity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial services, with at least 5 years’ exposure to life insurance and/or superannuation environments.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and governance frameworks, including APRA prudential standards and obligations relevant to group life and retirement portfolios.
- Demonstrated governance and risk capability, with experience designing, embedding or operating effective governance and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to translate complexity into clarity, using strong written and verbal communication to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Confidence managing stakeholders and priorities, balancing multiple initiatives while supporting sound commercial and risk outcomes.
- Analytical and detail‑focused approach, with the judgement to assess risk, interpret data and support informed decision‑making.
