The opportunity
The Newsroom Content Editor acts as the editorial quality owner of our tech and AI news coverage, publishing news content across TechnologyAdvice’s digital media properties. Assigns content to freelancers and staff writers; edits assigned content to meet topic, division, and company standards; tracks traffic and revenue metrics and contributes to editorial strategy conversations.Reporting to the managing editor, this role does not include people management responsibilities.

Working Hours: 4:00pm to 1:00am PHT or 9:00pm to 6:00am PHT
What you’ll do
Content Execution:
- Performs all levels of editing (developmental, fact-checking, and copy editing)
- Provides written edits and feedback to staff writers and freelance writers
- Edits articles to newsroom standards and to succeed with Google Discover and Google News algorithms
- Writes new articles as needed
- Ensures all published content aligns with the site’s audience, mission, and vision
- Regularly evaluates story quality to identify areas for improvement
Strategy & Planning:
- Pitches article ideas and content updates
- Keeps abreast of topic news, market competitors, and audience needs and guidelines
- Contributes to editorial runway content planning and execution
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on content initiatives
- Supports topic leads
- Support other topic, division, or site projects as assigned by manager
Who you are
- Five years of experience writing and editing news, ideally in the B2B space or covering technology in a newsroom environment
- Working familiarity with technology products and vendors and how they impact governance, ethics, consumer and enterprise needs, etc…
- Experience working with generative AI tools for writing and editing
- A portfolio demonstrating writing and editing proficiency
- A degree in Journalism, English, Technical Writing, Publishing, Communication, or Writing is preferred
- Superior copyediting and proofreading abilities and a strong familiarity with American English spelling conventions
- Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to engage with highly experienced writers and freelancers
- Superb research skills and a strong desire to learn, investigate, and problem solve
- The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, manage time well, and edit a high volume of high-quality work
- Knowledge of Google News and Google Discover publishing platforms and experience writing and editing for them
- Eagerness to collaborate and a willingness to learn
- Must have a working laptop/pc and internet and back-up connection
- Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward

Salary Range
We seek to hire top-tier individuals and intend for our compensation to be at a rate that allows us to recruit and retain individuals who align with our core values, purpose, mission, and vision. Final total compensation is based on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to, skill level, relevant experience to the position, and cost of labor.
Monthly Pay Range
₱60,000—₱90,000 PHP
