Join the team as Twilio’s next Associate Application Engineer, Finance.
About the job
As an Associate Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and resolving all system related issues across our Finance systems landscape. You will focus on the R2R (General Ledger, Fixed Assets) area and will partner with current team members, shadowing them, learning and providing daily support to our end users. You will also work on enhancements and projects, delivering enhancements across the Oracle ERP application landscape.
Your role will involve interacting with end users, analysing business problems and using Oracle technology to resolve these issues. You will be coached by an experienced Oracle Lead for each track. You will also learn about AGILE ways of working and in particular the SAFe model of software delivery working in iterations.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Design, develop and test platform/product extensions that meet the additional functionality specified by the Business teams.
- Ability to develop and deliver cost effective integrations as per business requirements - to create journals, invoke SaaS APIs and create reports for critical month end processes
- Ability to perform checks and monitor critical processes in the Production instance. Proactively identify issues and fix them.
- Ability to use developer tools like FBDI, ADFDI for data amendments
- Ability to configure and develop payment integrations to pull data from external systems.
- Support the Lead or Product Owner for your assigned track on any issue resolution items for Support tickets and project deliverables. Train to be an SME within Record to Report.
- Design, document, configure, deliver and automate across the Record to Report process in various Oracle modules - Oracle Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Intercompany, Fusion Tax, Oracle plus external upstream and downstream systems e.g. tax engines such as Avalara.
- Work with Record to Report business teams to provide effective end user support & customer services to provide daily support across the applications they use
- Familiarity with creating test scenarios in Record to Report and using automated test tools.
- Learn the skills required to translate business problems into technical solutions offered by the Oracle product suite.
- Develop and execute system conversion and implementations.
- Proficient in process and solution engineering, managing and delivering multiple cross functional projects
- Partner effectively with vendors to coordinate and drive complex projects.
- Advanced verbal, written and presentation skills. Create and maintain detailed documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
- Manage KLO, upgrades,
- Work as per the SAFe delivery model. Comfortable with Feature to Stories breakdown, iteration planning and execution.
- Lead cross-functional requirement sessions to elicit, document and analyse business requirements. Create functional specifications. Includes identifying unspoken or conflicting requirements and challenging the norm.

*Required:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field. Other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in Finance, Accounting
- Good knowledge on Oracle Fusion cloud architecture and Record to Report process
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger, Fixed Assets and accounting. Plus integrations with multiple external systems for creating the data in Oracle fusion cloud GL and Fixed Assets.
- Must have knowledge on integrations around Oracle with external systems such as Payroll providers, EPM - EDMCS, FCCS and Avalara tax engine.
- Good understanding of the Oracle platform, objects, and Oracle APIs.
- Hands-on Oracle dashboards and report development is required.
- Knowledge on developing and executing system conversion and implementations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, English is a must.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot business issues and provide effective technical solutions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
- Teamwork-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Should have a good knowledge of change management, Agile methodologies.
- Comfortable to work across time zones – willing to work in EMEA Shift (1 PM to 10 PM IST or 2 PM to 11 PM IST). Bulk of users are in either the U.S. or EMEA.
Desired:
- Oracle Financials Cloud: General Ledger 2023 Certified Implementation Professional
- AGILE or SAFe experience.
