Job Summary
The Analyst, Strategy & Planning role is critical in supporting Urban Grid’s growth by delivering accurate corporate reporting, insightful management presentations, and critical cross-functional projects. In this role, the Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning, and interface directly with senior leadership, translate complex data into clear insights, and enable decisions that advance the company’s performance and protect project value across development, construction, and operations.
Responsibilities
Corporate Reporting & Insights
Prepare regular reports covering development pipeline, project milestones, and capital deployment
Maintain dashboards and KPIs, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Drive continuous improvement in reporting quality and cycle time through automation and process enhancements.
Standardize workflows, templates, and documentation practices to ensure consistency in tracking.
Identify gaps in current processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce compliance risk.
Stay informed on evolving IRS guidance, regulatory updates, and industry best practices related to renewable energy tax credits.
Management Presentations & Executive Interface
Build executive-ready materials for senior management and the Board (e.g., portfolio updates, market outlooks, investment committee memos, strategic reviews).
Distill complex analysis into concise narratives, visualizations, and recommendations; present findings in leadership meetings and cross-functional forums.
Coordinate inputs across Development, Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), Operations, Finance and Commercial groups
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work directly with the Procurement department to track major equipment orders (e.g., solar modules, turbines, inverters, transformers)
Monitor contract execution, deposits, and delivery schedules tied to project tax credit eligibility
Maintain a centralized view for the Development organization of equipment allocation and supporting compliance documentation
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field
2+ years of experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, tax, project finance, consulting, or a related field
Foundational knowledge of U.S. renewable energy tax credit frameworks (ITC/PTC) and safe harbor concepts
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across a complex project portfolio
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
Experience supporting utility-scale solar, wind, or storage projects preferred
Exposure to construction or project development lifecycle phases preferred
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred
Location: Hybrid in Houston, Texas (4 days in office, Fridays remote).
