Break into private equity deal sourcing – work directly with PE-backed operators in D.C.
This role is a true entry point into private equity deal sourcing. It’s built for candidates coming from sales, business development, or other client-facing roles, as well as strong new graduates with finance, economics, or business backgrounds.
You will work hands-on with CEOs-in-Residence and senior operators sourcing acquisition targets and building real deal flow. This is execution-first work, not observational.
Role Snapshot
Role: Sourcing Consultant (Independent Contractor)
Location/Type: Washington, D.C. strongly preferred; hybrid/remote considered with travel
Pay: $40–50/hour (1099)
OTE: ~$140K total compensation ($90K+ hourly equivalent + up to $50K bonus)
Schedule: Full-time
Impact: You sit at the very front end of private equity deals, supporting CEOs-in-Residence on live acquisitions.
What You’ll Do
- Research and identify acquisition targets across healthcare IT and SaaS
- Build highly focused company lists for proprietary outbound outreach
- Execute outbound email and LinkedIn outreach in partnership with CEOs-in-Residence
- Write clear, concise, high-quality outreach emails to founders and executives
- Track outreach activity, responses, and outcomes in CRM tools
- Review results, iterate on targeting, and continuously improve messaging
- Prepare notes and materials to support live deal conversations and next steps

Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience, or exceptional academic performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with outbound outreach, follow-ups, and rejection
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple active threads
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
Nice to Have
- Client-facing experience in sales, business development, or account management
- SDR, BDR, ISR, or consultative sales exposure
- Customer service roles with direct relationship ownership
- Familiarity with CRM and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn, HubSpot, ZoomInfo, or Grata
Perks & Pay
- Hourly Pay: $40–50/hour
- On Target Earnings (with Bonus Included): ~$140K total compensation
- Direct exposure to private equity deal sourcing from day one
- Work 1:1 with experienced, PE-backed operators and CEOs
- Clear transition path from sales or business roles into private equity
Schedule & Location Expectations
- Full-time role
- Candidates based in Washington, D.C. are strongly preferred
- Candidates willing to relocate to Washington, D.C. are highly encouraged
- Remote candidates will be considered only if willing to travel to Washington, D.C. at least monthly to meet and work directly with the CEO/operator
- Independent contractor (1099)
