Job description

The Company You’ll Join: It is our mission to create an exceptional firm that betters the world of work. Veris Insights is a recruiting intelligence and analytics firm dedicated to helping University Recruiting and Talent Acquisition leaders attract, engage, and recruit top talent.

Through research, analytics, and leader-focused programs, we provide actionable insights, cutting-edge tools, and collaborative experiences. We advise and support 250+ Fortune 1000 companies on their hardest recruiting issues – diversity and inclusion, recruiting events, candidate preferences, competitor practices…etc.

We are a values-driven company, and member value is paramount. Simultaneously, we seek to build a remarkable company ourselves. We practice what we study and dedicate ourselves to creating a welcoming home for exceptionally talented people.

The Team You’ll Join: You will join the University Recruiting Syndicated Research function, which produces large scale, recurring research that helps employers understand and improve how they attract, engage, and hire early career talent

Within this function, the Data & Insights team owns the design, execution, and evolution of our core research programs. The team manages survey and interview methodologies across a panel of 150,000+ students and a network of Fortune 1000 university recruiting leaders, translating data into insights that directly inform member strategy.

Your Role: As Senior Research Manager, you will lead the Data & Insights team and oversee the delivery of our core student and employer research. You will manage a small team of researchers while remaining closely involved in the work itself.

In this role, you will own select studies from design through delivery and partner closely with the Director of UR Research to strengthen research quality, improve how our programs operate at scale, and continue evolving how insights are communicated to and used by members.

Who You Are:

Innovative Thinker. You seek out opportunities to elevate research design, delivery formats, and analytical methods.

People-First Leader. You thrive on developing others, guiding projects and people toward excellence while creating space for autonomy and growth.

Strong Project Manager. You bring organization, foresight, and structure to multi-workstream environments, ensuring studies run smoothly from ideation to delivery.

Analytical Storyteller. You are skilled at turning complex data into clear, compelling insights that drive decisions.

Collaborative Partner. You communicate effectively across teams, aligning researchers and client-facing teams toward shared goals.

Key Responsibilities: Research Leadership & Insight Development

  • Lead select studies end-to-end, from scoping and survey design to analysis and storytelling, ensuring findings are rigorous, relevant, and actionable.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance how data informs from experimenting with new survey or analytical approaches to piloting new deliverable formats and tools.
  • Operationalize improvements to the data and insights infrastructure, contributing to stronger research systems, processes, and overall execution quality.

Key Responsibilities: People Leadership

  • Manage and develop a small team of researchers, fostering strong performance, professional growth, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to strengthen analytical skills, project management acumen, and independent ownership.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes, ensuring the team delivers impactful and reliable research to members.

Key Responsibilities: Project Management & Coordination

  • Oversee the student insights and employer benchmarking workstreams, ensuring all timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear project plans and milestones, supporting the day-to-day execution of survey, interview, and data initiatives.
  • Coordinate across cross-functional partners to build tools, improve accuracy and elevation of insights, and share new research.
  • Ensure all research deliverables meet high standards of accuracy, consistency, and clarity while elevating how insights are communicated and applied by members.

The Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in market research or consulting is preferred, with a focus on HR, talent acquisition, or talent management topics a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex research projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience directly managing and developing individual contributors, with demonstrated success coaching early- and mid-career researchers.
  • Strong background in survey design and execution, including question development, sampling strategy, and data quality management. Experience with Qualtrics a plus.
  • Skilled in quantitative data analysis and interpretation, with proficiency in at least one analytical or visualization platform (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Excel, DisplayR).
  • Experience conducting or guiding qualitative research (e.g., interviews, open-ended analysis, case studies) and distilling insights into actionable recommendations or complements to quantitative findings.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma, Power BI).
  • Exceptional ability to translate technical data into accessible insights and clear, compelling narratives.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering A+ quality in both your own work and your team’s work.
  • Comfortable creating structure in ambiguous situations and driving process improvements that increase efficiency and consistency.

The Compensation & Benefits Package:

  • Salary: $92,500 to $105,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Location: Remote-first within the U.S., with occasional travel to Washington, DC for in-person collaboration, team off-sites, or strategic planning
  • Time Off: Unlimited PTO, plus monthly mental health days
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a $1,000 annual wellness stipend
  • Retirement: 401(k) with up to 4% employer match
  • Family Support: Paid parental leave
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider OPT/CPT holders.

Please keep in mind: Research has shown that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds only apply to jobs when they meet 100% of the requirements vs. their majority counterparts, which apply at a much higher rate if they meet 50-60% of the requirements. So, with that being said, if you are interested in the role, we would love to hear how you can leverage your talents to be an awesome culture add.

Our Values & Culture, In Brief: Talent is in our DNA. It is what we study, who we serve, and the quality we most pride ourselves on internally. In order for our team members to be at their best, we provide individualized benefits and support. At the most basic level, benefits include unlimited PTO, health insurance benefits, and career development opportunities. We believe a well-rounded and diverse team is the key to our success. To provide the widest range of experiences and perspectives in our member service and internal culture, we never discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or marital, veteran, or disability status. Please let our recruiter know if there are any accommodations we can provide for you to ensure an equitable and comfortable recruitment process.

We highly value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and this shows up in everything we do. Our research has a significant focus on the experiences of candidates from diverse backgrounds. Internally, we have Employee Resource Groups for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ employees, and Affinity Groups to support women and neurodiversity. Furthermore, we’ve established a Diversity Council to promote a workplace environment that is safe, respectful, and inclusive for all and acts as an active partner to People Ops and Leadership in service of our broader firm-wide DEI goals.
