Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Remote
Work Shift: Overlap, 4h PHT, 4h Arizona time zone (Mountain Time/PST)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-time)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Bookkeeper who will serve as a valuable asset to our firm, assisting in day-to-day accounting tasks. This position involves limited client interaction, and you will focus primarily on managing financial records, performing reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of data in various accounting software systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update client financial records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring transactions are properly categorized and match the general ledger.
- Process bills, payments, and ensure all documents are in order and completed on time.
- Manage and track prepaid banking transactions to ensure all entries are correct and compliant with firm policies.
- Address uncategorized cheques (such as rent payments) and allocate them correctly to maintain accurate records.
- Resolve discrepancies or issues promptly, ensuring that no problems arise during payroll or other accounting processes.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while handling tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Build lasting relationships with the firm and its clients, ensuring the consistency and stability of your work.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software (e.g., Bill.com).
- Experience with bank reconciliations, bill processing, and prepaid banking.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple clients simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to address discrepancies and issues effectively.
- Highly productive and efficient, meeting deadlines consistently.
- Excellent communication skills, working effectively with team members.
Nice to Have:
- CPA certification or in the process of pursuing a CPA.
- Prior experience in a similar accounting role within a firm environment.
