About the role
CapIntel is looking for a Software Development Team Lead to drive delivery of high‑impact projects and meaningful value to our customers. In this role, you’ll be accountable for turning product and business goals into shipped, reliable software.
You’ll combine technical leadership with delivery ownership: partnering with the product manager and product team on roadmaps and discovery, breaking down work with the engineers, managing risk, and ensuring we deliver on time and with quality. You’ll still be hands‑on enough to guide technical decisions, but your primary focus will be on outcomes to ensure the team is consistently delivering projects.

What you’ll do
- Co‑own the delivery of key projects with the product and architecture teams from planning through release, ensuring clear scope, timelines, and success criteria.
- Partner with the product manager to translate product and business goals into actionable roadmaps and plans, aligning on priorities and trade‑offs
- Track progress, manage risks and dependencies, and keep stakeholders aligned on status, decisions, and trade‑offs.
- Drive technical decision‑making to support reliable, scalable, and maintainable delivery.
- Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team environment with a strong focus on outcomes and accountability.
- Conduct regular 1:1s and coaching sessions to support team growth, performance, and engagement.
- Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, and process improvements that accelerate delivery.
- Work closely with the product team, design, and other groups to ensure we’re building the right things in the right order.
- Continuously refine how the team works (planning, estimation, QA, release practices) to improve predictability and quality.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role leading a development team, and responsible for delivering projects end‑to‑end in co‑ownership with a product team.
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and modern web development frameworks.
- Ability to balance hands‑on technical work with coordination, prioritization, and cross‑functional communication.
- Experience mentoring and guiding engineers, with a focus on both performance and outcomes.
- Experience conducting code reviews, technical interviews, and performance evaluations.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, including managing production issues and implementing durable fixes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of aligning technical and non‑technical stakeholders around plans and trade‑offs.
Bonus experience
- Experience delivering projects in a fast‑growing SaaS environment.
- Background in technical strategy, DevOps, or cloud platforms (AWS), especially where it supports faster, safer delivery.
- Experience working in a product‑led environment, including joint discovery and decision‑making with the product team.
- Familiarity with metrics‑driven delivery (e.g., cycle time, deployment frequency, incident rates) and using data to improve how teams ship.
