OVERVIEW
When We All Vote seeks a Digital Director focused on the Party at the Polls program, a strategic leadership position responsible for crafting and executing a comprehensive digital presence to drive voter engagement and community participation. The Digital Director will lead email, web, and social media strategy and execution, as well as lead on supporting community partners through high-quality toolkits and technical assistance. This role will ensure all digital touchpoints — from flagship event promotion to direct voter contact — are aligned with When We All Vote’s brand, accessible, and impactful. We are seeking a leader who is equally comfortable managing high-level strategy as they are with hands-on execution.
This is a full-time, temporary position concluding December 15, 2026.

YOUR IMPACT
- Develop and oversee the overarching digital roadmap for the Party at the Polls program, including ads, events, email, SMS, social media, and web.
- Directly manage the email strategy, including list segmentation, automation, and editing in collaboration with the Associate Director of Digital Engagement.
- Vision and project manage the Party at the Polls website, ensuring a seamless user experience for voters and partners.
- Collaborate with the Digital Content Manager to set the strategy for how Party at the Polls shows up on When We All Vote’s social platforms.
- Develop comprehensive digital toolkits for community partners, providing them with the assets and guidance needed to activate their local networks.
- Provide technical assistance to partners to help them promote their parties using digital platforms.
- Oversee the video strategy for Party at the Polls, ensuring high-quality storytelling that highlights flagship events and partner success stories.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and techniques, sharing information and inspiration with digital team members.
- Serve as the editor for all direct voter contact materials, ensuring tone, brand consistency, and clarity.
- Analyze digital performance metrics and update strategy based on real-time voter and partner behavior.
- Lead the digital promotion strategy for flagship events, coordinating across email, ads, SMS, and web to drive attendance and engagement.
- Other reasonable and related duties as assigned.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of experience in digital organizing, political campaigns, or nonprofit communications, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Advanced expertise in HubSpot.
- Proven experience in developing and executing successful digital strategies across various platforms and tools.
- Expertise in using digital tools effectively, including Sprout Social, Asana, Canva, WordPress, Mobile Commons, and all social platforms, with a proven track record of growing audiences and engagement on each.
- Demonstrated experience running large email and social media campaigns, preferably for a nonprofit, advocacy, or political organization.

- Exceptional editing and writing skills, with the ability to adapt voice and tone for diverse audiences.
- A proven track record of navigating complex issues, leading diverse teams, managing multiple stakeholders, effective decision-making, and producing results.
- An understanding of the broader civic engagement and political advocacy space.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience managing a digital team, including coaching, providing feedback, and project management to support team success.
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and community partners.
- Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing impactful and engaging digital campaigns with measurable reach and engagement outcomes.
- Proven ability to design digital programs that move individuals from online engagement to offline action.
- Strong ability to listen, understand, connect, earn the trust of, and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization and across backgrounds.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently, effectively, and creatively.
- Ability to simultaneously juggle multiple projects while also consistently meeting goals and deadlines.
- Values a fully integrated communications strategy across all online and offline channels.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in the Google Suite.
- Strong teamwork, critical thinking, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The Washington, DC-based salary for this position is $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits plan includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees, flexible paid time off, paid family & medical leave, access to a 401k plan, and more.
Additionally, given the short-term nature of this program, successful candidates will receive continued health insurance coverage beyond the program end date as part of our commitment to supporting team members.
