Senior Marketing Communications Specialist:
As a member of the Marketing team the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for leading content development fueling CoreSite’s demand generation engine and elevating brand equity. This role will draw on industry experience and communication skills to write, edit and manage a variety of vehicles that communicate the value CoreSite delivers to its customers and partners. Collaborating with multiple CoreSite stakeholders, the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for developing innovative, compelling content, managing resources, ensuring assignments align with departmental budget and CoreSite’s relevant content lifecycle management.
Duties:
- Partner with the Marketing leaders to execute CoreSite’s content strategies using a combination of human expertise and AI-assisted research for optimization and performance analysis.
- Translate complex data center, cloud, AI infrastructure and interconnection concepts into clear, value-driven messaging tailored to technical and business audiences.
- Work cross-departmentally with demand generation teams, channel sales to conceive and develop sales enablement tools.
- Conceive, execute and continually enhance CoreSite’s blog strategy, incorporating AI-informed topic research and trend analysis.
- Plan and manage CoreSite’s blog editorial calendar, internal and external contributors and content execution.
- Manage internal contributors and external/contract writing resources throughout the content development lifecycle (blogs, whitepapers, thought leadership articles).
- Write compelling content in a variety of formats (blogs, infographics, video scripts, e-books, white papers, tech briefs, case studies, web copy and content, digital and print ads, tag lines, brand messaging, etc.).
- Leverage generative AI tools for content ideation, research synthesis and headline or message testing, while personally authoring all full-length blogs, white papers, thought leadership and other key assets to ensure CoreSite’s voice remains differentiated, authentic and credible.
- Identify opportunities to cultivate senior executive thought leadership and develop content targeting key brand personas.
- Collaborate with CoreSite’s Designer to create visually compelling content.
- Collaborate on CoreSite’s content usage and lifecycle specific to assigned projects and in general (e.g. gated vs. ungated).
- Collaborate across the marketing organization to ensure content needs are met (tradeshows, sales development emails, etc.).
- Partner with the sales organization to develop effective sales enablement tools
- Apply AI-based SEO, keyword research and content optimization to improve discoverability, engagement and conversion across all channels.
- Report on content usage and engagement rates and continually optimize content to ensure effectiveness.
- Manage relationship with external vendors including writers, videographers and publications.
- Ongoing professional development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, with regular on-site presence of up to 2 days per week.
- Flexibility to travel up to 10%, with the potential for increased travel or in-office presence as business needs evolve.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate business value and customer outcomes for complex technologies using best-practice business writing
- Exceptional editing skills, with high attention to detail and strong editorial judgment
- Collaborative ideation and creative skills
- Collaborative and creative communicator, able to ideate effectively across teams
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally at all levels of the organization, including interviewing subject matter experts and serving as a ghostwriter
- Knowledgeable of concepts including buying cycle, persona-based content strategies and effective sales enablement
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines, when necessary
- Proficient in the use of SEO optimization tools such as SemRush, Google Analytics, HREFs
- Experience developing and implementing AEO and GEO content to help CoreSite build authority for large AI models such as ChatGPT and Gemini
- Deft research of industry analyst insights to enhance content credibility
- Basic knowledge of SEO-related website backend elements (metadata, HTML)
- Ability to mentor colleagues on effective communication tactics
- Ability to use content and design tools, such as Canva, Adobe Suite and Microsoft to support digital and social campaigns
- High-level understanding of social media strategies and tactics
- Willing to complete writing exercise without AI assistance to demonstrate ability and business acumen
Education/Experience:
- Strongly preferred bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, English or related field
- At least 6 years of back-to-back marketing experience with broad experience in data center technologies, industry trends
- Broad experience with content development, including both copywriting and design
- Experience partnering with sales, product, executives, engineers and customer service teams

Compensation:
Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $93,700 to $102,700 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity, based upon individual and company performance.
