About Donor Network West
We are a federally designated nonprofit 501©3 organ procurement and tissue recovery organization (OPO) founded in 1987. Headquartered in Northern California and Northern Nevada, we serve over 13 million people across 45 counties in these regions. Our mission is to save and heal lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation for transplantation and research. We connect donor gifts to recipients and support donor families throughout the process. We partner with 175 hospitals, over 500 funeral homes, and 44 coroners and medical examiners. We also work with researchers in academic medical centers, hospitals, universities, and biotechnology centers to advance medical research using organ and tissue donations. In 2022, 416 organ donors helped save lives within their communities through our efforts. We are an accredited member of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), and are members of Donate Life California and Donate Life Nevada.
