Job Description
Experian is transforming the housing ecosystem through data transparency, innovation, and equitable access. You will:
- Strengthen Experian’s position as a trusted leader in the modernization of housing finance
- Shape industry standards, influence policy, and accelerate innovation
- Evaluate, and activate growth opportunities across the housing lifecycle
- Expand Experian’s footprint through strategic partnerships, alliances, and investments
PRIMARY GOALS:
- Enhance Experian’s influence in the housing ecosystem through expertise and strategic engagement with associations, regulatory bodies, and GSEs.
- Guide cross-market growth, building new opportunities across primary, secondary, servicing, and rental sectors.
- Lead M&A and investment evaluations, partnering with Corporate Development and Ventures to build compelling, data-driven business cases.
- Advance development, collaborating with Product, Data, and Technology teams to shape the next generation of housing solutions.
- Orchestrate enterprise understanding, ensuring insights, partnerships, and programs translate into successful execution across departments.
About the Role:
Experian’s Housing business is looking for a visionary Senior Director of Strategic Growth and Partnerships to shape the future of fair and affordable housing. You will be our primary external voice across the housing finance ecosystem, driving industry influence, unlocking market opportunities, and building the partnerships that fuel Experian’s next phase of growth. You will oversee strategic relationships with major industry associations, GSEs, and policy-setting organizations such as MBA, MISMO, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHFA. You will also lead cross-market expansion programs, evaluate M&A opportunities, and partner across Product, Data, Sales, Ventures, and Corporate Development to accelerate innovation and market impact.
You will report to the VP of Strategic Development – Experian Employer Services, Verification Solutions, Housing (EVH).
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Industry Ecosystem Leadership
- Manage Experian’s relationships with MBA, MISMO, FHFA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and leading housing finance institutions.
- Represent Experian at conferences, advisory groups, standards bodies, and public forums.
- Develop an industry engagement strategy that deepens influence in policy, innovation, and data standards.
- Guide expertise around modernization, innovation, and consumer empowerment.
Strategic Growth & Innovation
- Lead cross-market expansion programs across the mortgage, servicing, secondary, and rental sectors.
- Identify emerging market trends and translate insights into relevant strategies.
- Partner with Product, Data, and Technology teams to explore new technologies, data assets, and analytics capabilities.
- Champion pilot programs and new ideas concepts that unlock new revenue streams or ecosystem capabilities.
Mergers, Acquisitions and Strategic Investments
- Lead sourcing, evaluation, and prioritization of M&A and investment opportunities.
- Coordinate legal, financial, strategic, and technical due diligence across teams.
- Craft investment theses, commercial assessments, and executive-ready recommendations.
- Ensure inorganic growth aligns with Experian’s broader housing strategy.
- Collaborate with Strategic Alliances, Business Development, Sales, Product, and Strategy teams.
- Integrate competitive intelligence and market insights into enterprise strategy.
- Ensure understanding and execution readiness across the organization.
- Communicate market shifts, regulatory changes, and strategic opportunities to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in business development, corporate development, strategy, policy, or product within housing, FinTech, or financial services.
- Direct experience engaging with or working inside GSEs, FHFA, national associations, regulators, or policy-setting institutions.
- Experience with the housing finance ecosystem, including primary, secondary, servicing, rental markets, and data standards (e.g., MISMO).
- Expertise leading strategic programs, evaluating markets, or supporting M&A/investment decisions.
- Analytical with experience influencing senior team members.
- Experience representing an organization in external industry forums.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree.
Tools/Software Requirements:
You will be proficient in tools that promote strategic analysis, partnership management, and executive-level communication, such as:
- Analytical & Strategy Tools
- Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) / Google Sheets (advanced modeling and analysis)
- Market intelligence platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, PitchBook, and S&P Capital IQ)
Collaboration & Communication Tools
- Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint
- PowerPoint (executive-level presentation design)
Productivity & Innovation Tools
- Enterprise research and workflow tools used for due diligence and competitive analysis
