About International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children
We help the global community protect children from abduction, sexual abuse, and exploitation. We are a non-profit founded in 1998. We advocate, innovate, train, and collaborate globally.
We research child sexual abuse material (CSAM) laws in 196 countries through our CSAM Model Law & Global Review. Since we released it in 2006, 150 countries have updated or implemented new anti-CSAM laws. We advocate for changes to laws, treaties, and systems worldwide to improve child protection.
We educate and train professionals. We’ve trained over 400,000 people, including 16,000 law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and specialists, on handling child protection cases and fighting child sexual exploitation. We offer resources for educators (Education Portal, ITFCP School Allegation Protocol), criminal justice professionals, and healthcare providers (HealthPortal, Human Trafficking Toolkit).
We provide technical assistance, helping 19 countries develop Rapid Emergency Child Alert Systems, similar to AMBER Alerts. Collaboration is key to our work. We’ve established a Global Missing Children’s Center with 30 member countries and a Global Health Coalition with 33 members, including pharmaceutical companies. We partner with technology and financial companies to develop solutions, and work with civil society, governments, and private industry. Over 150 countries partner with us. We have regional offices in Australia, Brazil, and Singapore. The Financial Coalition Against Child Sexual Exploitation, supported by organizations like American Express, Citi, Mastercard, and Visa Inc., funds our efforts to disrupt the financial mechanisms of sexual exploitation.
