ICMEC’s Swiss entity, ICMEC Switzerland (ICMEC-CH), is based in Zurich. ICMEC-CH is participating in the European-Commission funded Project SALVUS. The SALVUS (Ensuring SA fer justice outcomes in on L ine and underco V er child sex U al abuse inve S tigations) Project seeks to address the current gaps in knowledge, best practice and legislative frameworks in relation to online, including undercover, Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) investigations and build on this and existing knowledge to develop a holistic suite of innovative, recommendations, best practice guidance and training to remedy regional and national shortcomings.
The overarching aim of the SALVUS project is to provide research-based knowledge and understanding of online CSA and undercover investigations and their relationship to obligations to ensure the legality of evidence collection, developed from a child-centred and human rights core. The project’s outputs will help responsible agencies to develop regional legislative frameworks for the collection of evidence in these cases and provide a European Guidance of best practice in CSA investigations for the collection of evidence in online and undercover cases, aiding law enforcement authorities, forensic institutes, and policy/lawmakers to ensure safer justice outcomes.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
ICMEC-CH is seeking a part-time Psychologist and Training Officer in Switzerland to design, develop, and deliver trauma-informed, child-centred training under the SALVUS project, with a strong focus on the psychosocial and mental health dimensions of online CSA and undercover investigations.
Applicants must be residents of and physically located in Switzerland.
The Psychologist & Training Officer will lead the integration of psychological expertise into online and in-person training programmes, ensuring they reflect trauma-informed care, human rights, and victim- and child-centred approaches, as well as mental health and well-being considerations for professionals and other interested stakeholders. The role requires close collaboration with Law Enforcement Authorities (LEAs), subject-matter experts, mental health professionals, and project partners to ensure that training responds to identified needs and supports the resilience of professionals exposed to CSA material without duplicating existing EU-level training offerings.
While this role does not involve viewing any sensitive CSA material, it does involve handling potential disclosures of sensitive experiences.
Location: Remote / working from home. Based in Switzerland.
Contract: Part-time (50%), 20-month contract from May 2026, with the possibility to extend as new projects come through.
Supervision: This role will be carried out under the direction and supervision of the Vice President of National Capacity Building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design a modular, on-demand online course on trauma-informed care and human rights, among other topics within the field of online CSA investigations, including undercover.
- Develop one in-person curriculum according to the needs and assessments of the SALVUS framework.
- Collaborate with the project partners and other stakeholders to deliver the online and in-person training sessions.
- Provide psychological input to the design of training scenarios, case studies, and debriefing protocols involving exposure to CSA content
- Facilitate sensitive discussions related to exposure to CSA trauma and ethical dilemmas in a safe and professional manner.
- Ensure online and in-person training sessions comply with inclusivity and accessibility standards
- Incorporate feedback from participants, partners, and stakeholders to continuously improve training content.
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on training effectiveness and impact.
- Support any other task associated with psychological expertise within the larger framework of the SALVUS project.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (clinical, counselling, forensic, or related field).
- At least three (3) years of experience in training or capacity-building, human rights and child rights perspective, preferably in CSA.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, child development, and the psychological impact of exposure to CSA content.
- Experience in designing and delivering online and in-person courses.
- Experience handling potential disclosure of traumatic events and of safe and anonymous escalation procedures.
- Willingness to travel for in-person training (within Europe).
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Other language skills are appreciated.

- Ability to engage with diverse professional audiences and adapt training approaches to different institutional and cultural contexts.
- Capacity to translate complex psychological concepts into practical tools and learning outcomes.
- Ability to communicate complex psychological concepts clearly to non-clinical audiences.
- Non-negotiable sense of professional boundaries and self-care.
- Ability to create safe and trust-based learning environments.
- Ability to identify training gaps and translate needs into concrete learning objectives.
- Attention to detail, especially regarding ethical safeguards, confidentiality, and child- and victim-centred approaches.
