The Role

We are an effective, cross-functional product team distributed across the US, Canada and Korea. Our philosophy is to start small and then intentionally iterate to test our assumptions and learn quickly. We’re building a complex product for a highly engaged audience, and quality is what lets us move fast without breaking trust. As a QA Tester, you’ll help ensure every release feels reliable, delightful, and safe for learners, families, and educators.

You’ll work closely with engineers, PMs, and designers throughout the development lifecycle. This is an entry-level role designed for someone excited to grow into a well-rounded quality professional—learning how to think like a user, test like an engineer, and communicate like a product partner.

We believe the future of education is hybrid—online and in person—and that quality is essential to earning trust with families and educators. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Partner with product pods to plan and execute testing for new features, joining early in planning and design stages to identify key risk areas and user flows.
• Run bug bashes end-to-end: facilitate sessions, document bugs with clear repro steps, help score priority/impact, and verify fixes.
• Perform baseline smoke, exploratory, and integration testing to catch regressions and uncover unknown issues before and after releases.
• Perform stress tests, accessibility (a11y) tests and international (i18n) / language testing.
• Respond to ad-hoc QA requests by creating Jira tickets, shaping test plans with requesters, and delivering timely feedback.
• Track and improve product quality over time by monitoring recurring regressions, test coverage gaps, and maintaining shared test users and device/browser coverage guidelines.

• 릴리스 전후로 기본 스모크 테스트, 탐색적(exploratory) 테스트, 통합(Integration) 테스트를 수행해 회귀(regression)를 잡고 잠재적인 이슈를 발견합니다.
• 스트레스 테스트, 접근성(a11y) 테스트, 그리고 국제화(i18n) / 언어 관련 테스트를 수행합니다.
• 수시로 들어오는 QA 요청에 대응하며 Jira 티켓을 생성하고, 요청자와 함께 테스트 계획을 구체화한 뒤, 신속하고 명확한 피드백을 제공합니다.
• 반복적으로 발생하는 회귀, 테스트 커버리지의 공백을 모니터링하고, 공용 테스트 사용자 및 디바이스/브라우저 커버리지 가이드를 유지·개선하여 장기적으로 제품 품질을 추적하고 향상시킵니다.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Some experience in QA, software testing, or a related internship/project; entry-level candidates welcome.
• Strong user empathy and product mindset — you enjoy thinking through real-world workflows and edge cases.
• Ability to write excellent bug reports inclusive of clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, screenshots/video, and severity/priority suggestions.
• Attention to detail and organization — you can track multiple testing requests and follow through reliably.
• English communication skills (intermediate or higher reading, writing, speaking, and listening).

NICE TO HAVE:

• Basic technical literacy: can read simple logs, understand API responses, and communicate effectively with engineers (no coding required).
• Experience (or clear familiarity) with manual testing practices: smoke testing, exploratory testing, regression testing, and writing test plans/checklists.
