We are looking for a motivated BI & Reporting Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will support the design, development, and optimization of BI solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, contributing to modern cloud-based analytics architecture.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable BI architectures and semantic models
- Design and optimize data models (star or snowflake schema), ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Drive adoption and best practices within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Semantic Models, Direct Lake)
- Optimize datasets, measures, and reports for performance (DAX optimization, model size reduction, aggregation strategies, incremental refresh)
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with governance standards across reporting layers
- Implement data security frameworks (RLS, workspace governance, access control policies)
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on data ingestion, transformation, and modeling strategies
- Contribute to BI governance frameworks, documentation standards, and reporting best practices
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, architectural risks, and improvement opportunities
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and analytics development
Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Power BI (advanced report design & semantic modeling)
- Advanced DAX (context transition, optimization patterns, complex calculations)
- Power Query (M)
Solid understanding of data modeling best practices (star schema, fact/dimension modeling, slowly changing dimensions)
Practical experience working with Microsoft Fabric:
- Lakehouse
- Warehouse
- Semantic Models
- Direct Lake architecture
Strong SQL skills for querying and performance tuning
Experience optimizing large enterprise datasets
Knowledge of performance best practices (aggregations, composite models, incremental refresh, Direct Lake vs Import trade-offs)
Familiarity with BI governance, data lineage, and documentation standards
Experience working in enterprise reporting environments
Experience with project management / ticketing tools (e.g., Jira)
Experience with Azure data services
Understanding of capacity management and cost optimization in cloud BI platforms
