RVO Health is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Associate Director, Paid Media to lead and develop performance marketing strategies for a dedicated pod of health media websites, including Healthline.com and Healthgrades.com.
In this role, you will lead a specialized team of managers and analysts, owning the full-funnel performance strategy for your business unit. You will be responsible for translating high-level business objectives into actionable media tactics, fostering a culture of mentorship, and driving profitable customer acquisition through rigorous, data-driven optimization.
Where You’ll Be
To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on an in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our South Charlotte office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & People Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing pod of managers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, psychological safety, and professional growth.
- Establish clear roles and feedback loops within your team to ensure alignment, transparency, and consistent delivery against marketing goals.
- Be a “player-coach”: While leading strategy, you are willing to roll up your sleeves to train team members on-platform and pitch in on execution when needed.
- Foster a culture of high performance and professional development both within your pod and across the broader marketing function.
Strategy & Channel Management
- Own and evolve the pod-specific media strategy, aligning your team’s execution with broader business objectives, P&L outcomes, and acquisition targets.
- Oversee day-to-day execution of digital paid media campaigns across a variety of channels (e.g., Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Affiliate, Video), ensuring spend is efficient and hits KPI targets.
- Champion a test-and-learn culture, driving rigorous experimentation across creative, audience segmentation, and bidding strategies to scale new opportunities within your business unit.
- Establish and track performance goals rooted in key business metrics, including LTV:CAC ratios and incremental profitability.
Analytics & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison to stakeholders in Product, Analytics, Client Services, Yield Management, and Finance to ensure paid media insights inform the broader business.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with lifecycle and site experience teams to improve yield and optimize the entire customer journey beyond the initial click.
- Partner with Finance on pod-specific forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and growth.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive experience in performance marketing or paid media, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding ROI-based goals.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing direct reports (managers and/or analysts).
- Proven experience managing large-scale media budgets (e.g., $10M+ annually) with high attention to detail.
- Deep hands-on-keyboard expertise in performance platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Taboola, or various DSPs.
- A data-driven mindset with proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex media data into actionable insights for stakeholders across executive, technical, and creative functions.
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs.
Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.
- Starting Salary: $101,250 - $120,000*
*Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications and experience
