About The Trevor Project
We are a non-profit focused on suicide prevention and mental health support for LGBTQ+ young people. We offer free, confidential crisis intervention 24⁄7 by phone, chat, and text, and plan to integrate services with social media. We also run TrevorSpace, a social networking site where LGBTQ youth can connect. We conduct education, research, and advocacy to support our direct services. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people aged 10 to 24. Studies show that LGBTQ+ young people with at least one accepting adult in their life are much less likely to attempt suicide. The Trevor Project was founded in 1998.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to end LGBTQ+ youth suicide by saving young lives through support. We believe an inclusive culture helps us achieve this. Our core workplace values include belonging, integrity, and community. We commit to trauma-informed and equitable practices. We want staff to feel respected and able to bring their best selves to work.
