About UnidosUS (@WeAreUnidosUS)
We were established in 1968 as the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), now UnidosUS, to advocate for Latino civil rights in the United States. We conduct research, policy analysis, and advocacy to offer a Latino perspective on community issues. Our work covers civil rights, immigration, education, health, housing and financial empowerment, racial equity, voting, political empowerment, and workforce development. We also address juvenile justice, youth engagement, employment, homeownership, and the Latino economy.
Through our network of community-based organizations (CBOs), called #AffiliatesUnidos, we reach millions of Latinos each year across the United States and Puerto Rico. We help these Affiliates build capacity, supporting their work at state and local levels and creating opportunities for individuals and families.
Our programs include designing, implementing, and evaluating career pathway and alumni engagement initiatives. This involves overseeing national career pathway programs with our affiliate subgrantees. Our advocacy efforts involve developing policy analyses and strategies, especially for immigration. We focus on areas like Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies and practices as part of campaigns like “Protect, Defend & Advance.” We manage our public presence using social media across policy, advocacy, programs, and external affairs. Internally, our legal and compliance teams advise on matters specific to tax-exempt organizations (501c3, 501c4, 501c6), risk management, regulatory compliance, litigation, contract management, and grants administration.
