The role
In this role, you’ll support the full information lifecycle for key data sets across Electricity, Gas & Fibre (EGF), ensuring the business has accurate, high‑quality information to underpin confident decision‑making and strong regulatory outcomes. You’ll work with teams across the business to develop data standards, support system and data changes, and ensure information is captured and maintained to a high standard.
You’ll also play a critical role in quality assurance – performing data validation, supporting audit requirements, resolving exceptions and helping maintain compliance across core data sets.
This role stands out for the opportunity it presents to grow your technical capability across GIS and SAP, gain exposure to compliance and audit processes, and build skills that open pathways into areas like BI and Esri. You can look forward to being part of a tight‑knit, supportive team that values collaboration, shared learning and a healthy dose of humour.
Note this role is available on a fixed term basis, for a period of 1 year.
Who are we looking for?
- Experience with spatial information systems (Smallworld, Esri, ArcGIS or similar), and ideally familiarity with SAP Plant Maintenance
- A process‑driven approach with strong attention to detail, delivering accurate and auditable work
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support others in good data management practices
- Someone who learns quickly, works flexibly, and is willing to pick up tasks that help balance the wider team’s workload
- An interest in continuous improvement, data quality and developing broader capability across GIS, SAP and audit‑related activities.

- We value diverse perspectives, which drive innovation and creativity. We encourage everyone to bring their full selves to work, embracing ideas that challenge and inspire
- Build a legacy doing work that matters – we’re keeping the lights on across Auckland, and driving a sustainable energy future for New Zealand.
