About
Created in 2019, Zego Insurance Limited (ZIL) was the UK’s first ever insurtech to secure its own insurance licence. Authorised and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, we provide underwriting capacity to the group MGA, Zego, for personal and commercial motor customers in the UK.
Role overview:
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in all areas of the Finance function, including:
- The preparation of monthly Management Accounts.
- The preparation of the annual Financial Statements.
- Liaising with both internal and external auditors.
- All aspects of the Treasury function including both banking and investments.
- Reporting to reinsurers as required.
- The preparation and submission of regulatory returns.
- Involvement with the preparation of forward-looking business plans.
- The preparation of information for Board and Committee meetings.
To succeed in this role you will require:
- Strong Microsoft skills plus experience of working with accounting packages.
- Strong practical accounting background. Some experience of insurance accounting would be useful but not essential as training will be given.
- Some knowledge of banking platforms.
- To be comfortable operating in an autonomous and dynamic environment.
- A willingness to “get your hands dirty” if required, both within the finance function and the wider company operations.
- An ability to communicate well within the Company and the wider Extracover Group.
- A desire to self-improve and develop - hopefully to a point where the successful candidate would be capable of stepping up to the Head of Finance role.
- An ability to challenge current working methodologies and offering up and implementing alternative, more efficient solutions.
General
This role is primarily a hybrid role, where you can work from home and will be expected to be in the Gibraltar office on predetermined office days to allow for collaboration with the rest of the team. There is also a requirement for occasional travel to the London office. This is a full time role with working hours 9:00 to 18:00.
