The Company
At Amber Labs, we are a cutting-edge UK and European technology consultancy that empowers autonomy, promotes experimentation, and enables rapid learning to deliver exceptional value to our clients. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, with our cross-functional consultants, engineers, and analysts working together to shorten delivery times, minimise risk, and drive impactful results for high-profile government and commercial programmes.
About the Role
We have an exciting new opportunity to support a leading retail client, in the redesign and implementation of their e-commerce platforms, including website, order management system, mobile app, and in-store kiosks.
We are seeking two experienced Business Analysts on the contractor market to join this transformation programme. You will play a key role in bridging business needs and technical delivery, ensuring value-driven outcomes across multiple digital touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit and Analyse Business Requirements: Partner with Product Managers, TPOs, and business leads to understand commercial goals, vision, and objectives. Engage stakeholders to capture business needs, customer journeys, and pain points, ensuring alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
- Refine and Manage the Product Backlog: Collaborate with Product Managers and TPOs to break down complex features into clear, deliverable user stories. Ensure backlog items are prioritised and ready for development.
- Support Agile Ceremonies: Lead backlog refinement sessions and workshops, actively participate in sprint ceremonies, and champion clarity and accountability within the squad.
- Maintain Documentation and Traceability: Document user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and non-functional requirements, ensuring traceability from requirements to delivered features.
- Coordinate Dependencies and Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and manage cross-squad dependencies, align localisation and regulatory needs, and act as a connector between business, technical, and local market teams.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within retail or e-commerce domains (websites, OMS, mobile apps, in-store solutions).
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and backlog management.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Familiarity with customer journey mapping and process analysis.
