Financial Controller

Job Location: Prague, but open to candidates from anywhere in the EU and UK

Flexibility: Option to work from our Prague office, or in hybrid mode or fully remotely; part-time can be considered (28-32 hours a week)

Reporting to: Finance Director

Language Requirements: Fluent English AND Czech/Slovak

What you will be doing

As a Financial Controller, you are one of the key players within the finance team, whose responsibility is to deliver the finance function by managing accounting, tax and controlling tasks among all four GraphAware entities (UK, Czech Republic, Australia, Italy). You are effectively responsible for financial operational to tactical decisions. You will be a member of Finance and Operations team, responsible mainly for:

  • 50% Accounting & Tax: in cooperation with junior accountant and external tax advisors in different countries, you will be managing and reviewing accounting; tax agenda, statutory reporting; cash management and intercompany accounting
  • 30% Controlling & Analysis & Reporting: you will be delivering and continuously improving internal reporting; actively participating in financial planning and providing various financial insights to the business
  • 20% Processes & Project-based topics: you will be actively leading financial initiatives and improvements with high level of power to influence things and participating on optimisation of internal processes

You will report to the Finance Director who will provide you with the ability to influence the things we do and support you in result delivery and your professional growth. As we are present in different countries, you will deal with people located worldwide and experience different nationalities.

What you must know already and be excited to grow further

  • Sound financial background; minimum 4 years of previous experience in Finance/Accounting/Controlling or a Big4 company
  • Fluent English and Czech/Slovak are a must
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures, taxes and financial systems and/or the ability to research and correctly implement
  • International experience in financially managing a group of entities
  • Outstanding MS Office or Google Workspace skills and overall computer literacy
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to understand the β€œbig picture”
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good understanding of different communication styles and cultural differences (previous experience of living/working abroad might be helpful to understand our team dynamics)
